In October the Department for Work and Pensions’ announced plans to relocate Runcorn Job Centre. Since that time, we have continued to monitor the situation with Labour being anxious that the Job Centre remained in the town with local people having access to the same services as before.
Cllr Dave Thompson said, “I have repeatedly pressed the DWP on their plans and since announcing the closure they have pledged to relocate close by to Trident Retail Park and renovations on Units there are now underway. We are told the new Jobcentre will open in August.”
Labour have often pressed the owners of property in Trident Retail Park on local issues. For example, the state of the former cinema and with periods of escalators not working. Dave added, “We will continue to provide regular updates on our work through this website.
