I have served as one of your Councillors for just over 10 years. First in the old Kingsway Ward and since 2021, in the new Highfield Ward. During that time I have helped thousands of local residents with issues and problems that they have raised with me. In the community, amongst many other things, I have carried out litter picks, ran community events, helped protect Lynton Crescent Green and organised our Community Recycling Skip Schemes. I work closely with my Highfield Ward colleagues – Cllr Bob Gilligan and Cllr Paul Nolan.
My proudest moment to date has been leading our four year Community Campaign to stop houses being built on Widnes Golf Club. We worked together across the Highfield Ward. It was hard work and the result was we won – planning permission was refused and the later appeal to the Planning Inspectorate was defeated.
I was appointed to the Council’s Executive Board in May 2025 and my portfolio is Community Safety.
